Lagoa

A famous place is in Lagoa is Carvoeiro. In Carvoeiro you have great views because there are no high-rise buildings permitted in this area. Lagoa is actually still a bit the poor relation of the Algarve, but has much to offer. What about the the colourful fishing harbor Ferragudo, a bright blue sea with soft sandy beaches, fascinating rock formations of "Algar Seco", the peace and salvation that this area offers you, the beautiful church which is the place where many fine services are kept and the many squares where you can get a delicious lunch or a glass of wine while enjoying the view of the authentic Portugal.

Lagoa has a cultural centre where performances are given each month (music/theater/art). Also the 'Center of saude' is established in Lagao, this is a small hospital where medical interventions and medical consultations are performed.

A tip for Lagoa in the wintermonths is the public indoor swimming pool.
