PORTUGAL

Aljezur

The municipality of Aljezur covers an area of around 323 Km2 and it is divided in four civil parishes;  Aljezur,Bordeira, Odeceixe and Rogil, and has approximately 5,000 residents.

Aljezur is located on the West coast of the Algarve and has wild waves and dramatic cliffs  with long stretches of unspoilt beaches and vast areas of protected hinterlands with beautiful hills covered with vegetation as far as the eye can see.

The Aljezur municipality features many small coastal villages that are the perfect place to be when you need peace and quiet with only the singing of a bird or the breaking of a wave  to interrupt you. In Aljezur you can find homes built in the typical Portuguese style with colourfully painted borders around the windows.

Praia do Amado is often proclaimed to be the most popular beach along the west coast, and is certainly the surfers’ favourite. Other beaches in this area are Arrifana beach, Bordeira, Monte Clérigo and Castelejo.
